Costa Mesa, June 4, 2006 – Delphi Display Systems, Inc. today launched its dual display Dispenser top Unit (DTU) in conjunction with several key partners in an initiative that will convert fuel stations nationwide into media centers. The system delivers relevant and entertaining programming including local news, sports, weather and traffic to refueling motorists, with Delphi providing the hardware solution consisting of 20” high-definition, daylight viewable LCD monitors embedded into gas dispensers.
This market segment has shown a significant surge in overall interest and viability the past year, and Delphi stands to establish itself as the pre-eminent display provider to this growing market.
The value proposition is rooted in the average length of time consumers spend fueling their vehicle. Multiple companies have developed programming that maximizes information sharing during this four minute time period.
Delphi has participated in the expansion into more than 100 Murphy sites in the key markets of Dallas, Atlanta and Houston.
“Delphi Display Systems is committed to pioneering creative solutions and adapting unique applications for our customers,” said Ken Neeld, president and CEO, Delphi Display Systems. “This burgeoning marketplace affords us with another great opportunity to apply our expertise.”
