MCDONALD'S NAMES DELPHI ENGINEERING AS AN APPROVED SUPPLIER FOR ORDER CONFIRMATION SYSTEMS

Costa Mesa, California (April 10, 2000) McDonald’s Corporation, the world’s largest global foodservice retailer, today named Delphi Engineering Group, as an approved provider for Customer Order Displays (COD’s). COD’s are a tool that the McDonald’s is using in the drive-through to that enables the customer to confirm their order on a 15" sunlight readable LCD screen as well as displaying the food cost (including sales tax). The COD improves speed of service, reduces errors in the order taking process and improves the customer’s overall drive-through experience. McDonald’s is also utilizing the suggestive sell features of the COD so their Owner/Operators can promote new or featured products, in full color graphics, to their drive-through customers.

After months of testing and passing the comprehensive McDonald’s approval process, Delphi CEO Ken Neeld said, "We have a very dedicated and talented engineering team here at Delphi. They worked very hard to design a cost-effective product that would meet McDonald’s stringent testing requirements. Their efforts and perseverance have been rewarded by this achievement". Neeld went on to say that, "Delphi already had numerous orders in hand from anxious Owner/Operators who were anticipating this approval. The technologically advanced features of our product have been recognized by our customers who were afraid that their COD’s may become obsolete in the near future". These advanced features include multi-language support, audio and video capability as well as having a system that is fully sealed, virtually eliminating any maintenance.
