Delphi Display Systems, Inc. Upgrades Major Customer Corporate
Locations to TCP/IP Network Connectivity
Costa Mesa, CA. December 31, 2008. Delphi Display Systems, Inc. announced today that it completed an upgrade of over 200 company-owned drive-thru locations for one of its major QSR customers to TCP/IP network connectivity for its existing Order Confirmation System (OCS) displays. The highly-compressed project was finalized in November of 2008, with a target to complete before year-end. The project entailed the upgrade of all company-owned locations installed with legacy serial connectivity OCS displays to Delphi's C-Series full TCP/IP network connectivity solution, a project completed just prior to the Christmas holiday.

Delphi's partnership with this customer extends back to 1996, at which time company-owned stores implemented Delphi's first-generation OCS products in both new and existing drive-thru stores to assure order accuracy and improve speed of service. In 2003, Delphi migrated to its fifth-generation OCS product line supporting full TCP/IP Ethernet connectivity, a technology adopted and implemented at that time for all new stores and now fully implemented in company stores with the completion of this upgrade program. With the corporate deployment now complete, Delphi will make the upgrade program available to qualified franchise locations during the first half of 2009.

"We are pleased to extend our technology partnership with our major corporate customers. This customer is now using Delphi's long-proven TCP/IP network solution which enables faster data transmission and content updates," said Dave Boerlin, VP Sales for Delphi. "Our corporate customers continue to lead the industry in drive-thru excellence by investing in effective and reliable technology that can be upgraded to increase the service lifetime."

To complete the project Delphi worked with PAR Technology who performed field service expertise and support. PAR and Delphi partnered to meet a well coordinate schedule to minimize the downtime at each store location. PAR performed de- and re- installations on a exacting timetable with Delphi providing daily updates to communicate where and when each store's display would be delivered and ready for re-installation. The year-end goal was well understood by both companies that have a strong history for serving this mutual corporate customer.

"We knew it was going to be a tough schedule to meet. Delphi assured us they would have the necessary resources in place and would utilize the latest technology to help us track display shipments to meet the stated program timing requirements," said Tony Lomazzo, PAR’s Director of Field Operations. "In the end, we were all pleased by how smoothly the program operated for both of us."

Delphi and PAR will work together again in 2009 to execute a similar program for franchisee locations that qualify for the upgrade. In addition to their partnership for this corporate customer, Delphi and PAR will advance their partnership through other QSR brands in 2009 and beyond.
