Overview Delphi's dual 20" wide-format fuel Dispenser Top Unit (DTU) has been designed to provide a unique digital media experience for motorists while they refuel their vehicles.
Utilizing full-color sunlight readable display technology, the DTU functions as a large high resolution audio/video content delivery platform. The DTU provides retailers with a variety of viewing options to show their customers national advertising, news, weather, traffic and promotional spots that merchandise products in their convenience store.
The DTU can support both centralized and distributed content server architectures utilizing either wired or wireless connectivity.
The centralized architecture streams video from a central content server simultaneously to each DTU via wireless or wired connectivity. The distributed architecture utilizes separate embedded content players in each DTU that run asynchronously. Content is updated periodically from a central server via wireless or wired connectivity.
The DTU has been designed to be placed on a fuel dispenser tabletop either with or without an optional cover shroud. In the event a shroud is not utilized, a faceplate can be added to the support base to provide a finished appearance. The faceplate can also be customized to create unique branding elements on a customer specific basis.
